Production and Event Manager

Summary

This is a full-time production and event management role at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, run in partnership with the University of Virginia. The post manager will plan and oversee events from booking through to completion, supervise event-day staff and liaise between clients and facility teams. A bachelor's degree and at least two years of related experience are required.

What you will do

• Plan and organise events with clients, guiding them through contract terms and deadlines
• Act as primary liaison between clients and venue departments, coordinating with service contractors
• Supervise event-day staff and part-time IATSE crew during set-ups, show calls and operations
• Prepare cost estimates and final billing for events
• Recruit, train and schedule event services staff

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
• At least 2 years of related experience or training
• Working knowledge of facility management for a similar venue, with arena or stadium experience preferred
• Concert and live production experience preferred
• Knowledge of staging, rigging, IATSE and NFPA code requirements
