Assistant Technical Director - HISTORY, Ottawa

Overview

This Assistant Technical Director role supports the Technical Director at HISTORY Ottawa, a concert and private-event venue in Ottawa, Ontario. The post covers day-to-day production management, technical systems and leadership of in-house crews for concerts and events.

What you'll do

• Cover the Technical Director's duties when they are away from the venue.
• Lead the in-house stage, sound and lighting crews for incoming tour productions.
• Keep production consumables stocked and the inventory and maintenance log current.
• Coordinate firmware updates, system tuning and equipment repairs with the Technical Director.
• Help maintain department manuals and training materials for production roles.
• Support advancing for concerts, private events and rentals across the venue.

What you need

• At least one year of leadership experience in an entertainment venue.
• Five or more years in tour or stage production, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with stage lighting, professional audio and basic video systems.
• Familiarity with production software and networked audio and video protocols.
• Able to lift up to 75 lb and work long periods on your feet in a loud, fast-paced setting.

Schedule

Evening, weekend and holiday shifts as required.

Pay

Expected compensation in Ontario is $32 to $38 per hour.
