Manager, Structural Engineering

Summary

LA28, the organising committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, is hiring a Manager, Structural Engineering to oversee engineering works across Olympic and Paralympic venues. The role leads internal teams and external consultants, working from its Downtown Los Angeles office with site visits. The advertised base salary is $105,000 to $140,000 per year, and the employer does not offer relocation assistance.

What you will do

• Lead structural engineering design for temporary infrastructure and venue renovation projects, including internal and external engineers
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and cross-functional teams to meet codes, IOC requirements, and cost and schedule targets
• Develop engineering design guides and oversee the structural portion of venue design books
• Oversee an installation team during the event period and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Partner with finance and procurement on costs, delivery risks and savings opportunities

Requirements

• Five years' experience in structural engineering infrastructure design and construction
• Accredited bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (required); Professional Engineering licence and project management certifications (desired)
• Experience leading diverse teams on complex, high-profile infrastructure projects
• Ability to manage external consultants and knowledge of key industry codes and standards
• Proficiency in engineering software such as Revit and AutoCAD, plus collaboration tools
