LN Venues, Special Events Sales Manager - New York Market

Overview

This in-venue sales manager role covers special events in the New York market, including conventions, association, corporate, social and incentive business. The position involves prospecting new clients, managing a sales pipeline and supporting the sales director with annual and monthly sales plans.

What you'll do

• Meet and exceed individual sales quotas, tracking results by market segment, month and quarter.
• Build and maintain a targeted database of planners, tour operators, corporate, social and non-profit clients.
• Respond to phone and electronic inquiries within 24 hours.
• Prepare proposals, contracts, special event orders and post-event correspondence.
• Build relationships with convention bureaus, chambers of commerce, hotels and industry bodies.
• Attend trade shows, networking events and off-site sales efforts as directed.

What you need

• Three to five years of hospitality sales experience, with catering, social or wedding sales preferred.
• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of sales and event systems such as Caterease, Cendyn, Exact Target and Rome.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, noisy setting, with walking, standing, frequent interruptions and handling small objects.

Schedule

Traditional daytime hours alongside some nights and weekends, in line with venue event demands.

Pay

Pay range is $78,000.00 to $99,000.00 USD, based on market location, qualifications, skills and experience.
