Insomniac - Project Manager, Production & Operations

Overview

This Project Manager role at Insomniac, part of Live Nation Entertainment, centres on planning and running production for dance music festivals and events. Based in Calabasas, California, it combines hybrid working with on-site presence at event and office locations. The role covers budgeting, logistics, site management and coordination across departments from planning through close-out.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain the topline budget and budget master, using figures from comparable past events and tracking purchases.
• Coordinate department advances, travel and production pull sheets, and maintain a master build schedule.
• Run department head and production meetings, record notes and follow up on actions.
• Lead daily production meetings and safety briefings during load-in and event execution.
• Act as the main contact for venue relations, permitting and community relations, and liaise with fire, police and medical teams.
• Coordinate site layouts with CAD designers and approve signage designs and event maps.

What you need

• At least five years' experience in event production, operations or project management within live entertainment.
• Strong financial tracking, forecasting and budget reconciliation skills.
• Working knowledge of Asana, Smartsheet or similar tools, and advanced Excel.
• Comfort with irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, and with loud, busy and temperature-variable environments.
• US work authorisation required; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Schedule

The role requires flexibility for irregular hours, including nights and weekends, and travel to events during holidays, evenings and weekends as timelines demand.

Pay

Salary range of $75,000 to $90,000 USD per year.
