Director, Insurance and Risk

Overview

This Los Angeles role leads enterprise insurance strategy for LA28, the organization preparing for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The director reports to the Chief Financial Officer and oversees the insurance portfolio, the owner-controlled insurance program and the captive insurer.

What you'll do

• Set direction for the corporate and event insurance portfolio, including renewal structuring and placement.
• Oversee the owner-controlled insurance program for venue overlay and temporary infrastructure through final closeout reconciliation.
• Manage the captive insurance vehicle alongside external managers, actuaries and regulators.
• Lead high-exposure claims and litigation, and set standards for indemnity and contractual liability terms.
• Model and report total cost of risk to senior leadership.
• Review supplier contracts and minimum insurance requirements to keep vendors compliant.

What you need

• Ten or more years of senior leadership in corporate risk, commercial brokerage or enterprise risk advisory.
• Hands-on experience with large OCIP or CCIP programs and captive insurance operations.
• Deep knowledge of excess casualty, sports and entertainment coverage and contractual indemnity.
• Bachelor's degree required; a master's or law degree preferred.
• Onsite availability at the downtown Los Angeles office, with extended computer and phone use in an open-plan space.

Schedule

Hours may vary and can include evenings, weekends and holidays, particularly during peak event periods.

Pay

Annual base salary range of $126,000 to $182,000 USD.
