Event Manager

Overview

Legends Global is hiring an Event Manager to plan and run conventions, meetings, trade shows and banquets at the Broward County Convention Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The role acts as the main contact between clients and venue departments from booking through to event day.

What you'll do

• Plan and coordinate event logistics from booking through to execution for assigned conventions, trade shows, meetings and banquets.
• Act as the main contact between clients and venue, service and vendor teams throughout each event.
• Interpret contract terms, venue policies and operational requirements to guide clients through planning.
• Prepare event estimates, track event expenses and produce final billing.
• Lead pre-event and pre-convention meetings, site visits and post-event follow-up.
• Monitor live event activity onsite and resolve operational issues as they arise.

What you need

• At least two years of management or event coordination experience in a convention center, arena, stadium, hotel or similar multi-purpose facility.
• High school diploma or GED required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in hospitality, event management or business is preferred.
• Working knowledge of convention center operations, facility services and event logistics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint; AutoCAD and venue planning software such as Momentus are advantageous.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and to cover large campus areas on foot.
• Availability for flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
