Senior Manager, Energy Design Engineering

Overview

LA28 is seeking a senior electrical design engineering manager to work from its downtown Los Angeles office. The role sets the electrical design direction for competition and non-competition venues at the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, covering temporary and permanent power.

What you'll do

• Act as the lead electrical authority across Games competition and non-competition sites.
• Set technical direction for design consultants and review their work against LA28 standards.
• Lead design development from load studies and capacity checks through to temporary power overlays on existing infrastructure.
• Coordinate with utilities, temporary power suppliers and the energy programme team on design and delivery.
• Define electrical objectives and propose strategies that support more sustainable energy use.

What you need

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or seven years of equivalent experience in electrical infrastructure and temporary power design.
• At least two years in a leadership role, ideally on sport or live-event power projects.
• Hands-on experience taking electrical designs from concept through to construction documents.
• Experience working with utilities or temporary power providers on capacity, service requests and delivery.

Schedule

Hours may include evenings, weekends and holidays, particularly during peak event periods.

Pay

Base salary of $105,000 to $170,000 per year.
