Director of Events | Central Park Boathouse

Overview

This Director of Events role leads event sales and team management at the Central Park Boathouse, a landmark waterside venue in New York City. The position focuses on building a new events practice, reaching social and corporate planners, and growing revenue. It is primarily onsite and works alongside unionized staff.

What you'll do

• Build and deliver an events sales plan to grow venue revenue.
• Lead outbound sales to event and meeting planners and negotiate large parties and events.
• Build, train and manage the events sales and execution team, including budgets and sales goals.
• Work with operations and culinary teams to deliver guest service at events.
• Direct event marketing with the marketing team and represent the venue at trade shows.
• Track competitor pricing and local market demand.

What you need

• Seven or more years of progressive event sales experience in restaurant, hospitality or live events.
• Experience leading food and beverage event sales and production teams.
• Working knowledge of TripleSeat or similar hospitality sales CRM systems.
• Understanding of the New York City event business cycle.
• Availability for evenings, weekends and holidays, including event set-ups.

Evenings, weekends and holidays, including oversight of major event set-ups and client greetings.

Pay

Pay is up to $125,000 a year, commensurate with experience, and the role is bonus eligible.
